How we prepare a room properly
Interior paint only looks as good as the surface underneath it, so prep is where most of the time on an interior job actually goes.
- Protect first: floors, fittings and furniture are covered before anything is opened
- Fill and sand: cracks, nail holes and old damage are filled and sanded back smooth
- Clean and prime: surfaces are cleaned of dust and grease, and primed where bare timber, patched plaster or a colour change needs it
- Cut in and roll: edges and trims are cut in by hand, then walls and ceilings are rolled for an even, consistent finish
We would rather spend an extra hour on prep than have a homeowner notice a flat spot six months later.
