A classic Queenslander, timber, high-set, VJ walls, breezy verandahs, is a different job to a standard brick home. The timber moves with the weather, old paint layers can be original to the house, and getting the colours right matters as much as the coverage. Assess the timber: we check weatherboards, stumps, fascias and verandah timber for rot, movement or old damage before we plan the job
Prep by hand where it counts: careful scraping, sanding and priming so old surfaces are sound before a new coat goes on
Match the era: we talk through period-appropriate colour schemes, from classic trims and highlights to a full heritage palette, so the house still reads as a Queenslander once it is done
Protect the details: fretwork, VJ panelling, breezeways and other original features are painted with care rather than rushed over

Old timber homes often carry decades of paint history, and rushing prep on a Queenslander shows up fast, peeling, flaking or a finish that does not sit right on timber that has moved over the years. We take the time on prep that timber needs, and we would rather flag a section that needs repair work than paint over a problem.
